The girls and I made a quick stop at my old stomping grounds, Covenant Children’s this last week. I actually graduated from Covenant School of Nursing in 2010, so I spent TONS of clinical hours here. I learned from the best nurses in the region when it comes to kids and gained a wealth of knowledge during my time here. So, it brought back all the memories showing my girls where I learned to become the best nurse.

Covenant Children’s is the absolute best in the west Texas/eastern New Mexico region when it comes to caring for children. They have staff specifically trained to work with children and is the only licensed, free-standing children’s hospital in the region. Their board-certified pediatric specialists have undergone years of kid-specific training, so they KNOW kids y’all.

I thankfully have never had to utilize their services for my own girls but have had many friends who have. They have always said the best things about Covenant Children’s and how amazing the staff was to their children and family. As a nurse myself, having a great bedside manner when you’re taking care of sick kiddos is extremely important. It can be extremely scary when there are so many unknowns. So having doctors and nurses specifically trained for kids in the region is so vital.

Now that I am a mom, having these services nearby just makes my mama heart so happy should I ever need them. I want to be able to feel comfortable knowing my girls are in the best hands and that is exactly what Covenant Children’s is here to do. Should you ever find yourself heading in their direction, just know your kids are in GREAT hands. The staff there really are the true heroes for our kids.
